Sometimes God calls us to walk on the water and sometimes he splits that same water in half and calls us to walk where it used to be. Both are wild because water doesn't work that way. It's fluid and it goes where it pleases. But God rules the earth, he isn't limited by His own earthly rules.
Water is so unpredictable and you know what happens when you try to wash a spoon let alone try to control it!
But while water is unpredictable, God is not. Think of the insane trust God required after He manipulated water. To walk ON water? To walk BESIDE two walls of water that could at any moment rest and fall back together? Insane. Yet, He calls us to trust that He is in control and to obey His voice.
