The Wild Inside: A Prayer from Asher and His Mama

Me: Do you feel wild inside?
Asher: Yes.
Me: Ok, let us pray.

Dear Lord, our Father in Heaven and in our hearts,
(Y)our boy feels wild inside and that's ok. Tell his heart that it's ok. There are so many out there like him--whether it be from outside sources, things that they've done, illnesses, medications, anger, or maybe they were just born that way. We thank you that Asher has open arms to come to and express how he feels in these moments.

We pray for the wild ones who don't.

We pray that you enlarge our arms to accept them in, too.  We pray that all wild ones find arms to calm and settle and reassure them in those moments.

We (child and adult, alike) pray for open arms for when we ourselves feel wild inside.

Lord, we are your wild ones.  Human emotions are so hard to navigate. Medications make us feel off.  Things we've done have created chaos within us that we can't settle. As we come to you ragged, hearts beating wildly with claws out ready to strike anyone who comes at us, remind us who we are. Whose we are. Remind us that you've covered all of that. Remind us to take deep breaths as our heartbeat aligns with yours and our wild inside calms. Remind us also that you can use the wild for Your glory. Amen.
