The Devil Doesn't Care If You Do Good

I don't think our enemy is concerned with us doing good as long as we tell others, take pictures, and check in.

King Humblebrag

He likes to see us hoarding up glory for ourselves and craving recognition on earth. I think what worries him is when we do good and only The Lord sees. He can't get into that and cause division because he doesn't have the authority to cause division between you and God. He can't breach His Holy Spirit.

When you open it up for everyone to see, the enemy of your heart can get in there and cause offense. Be. Careful. This is a heart matter and no man can judge it from your actions, I CANNOT JUDGE IT, so be sure to get it right.

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”Matthew 5:14-16

Your light is important and it shines for a reason. Your light illuminates the driving force behind your good works; your good works don't determine how bright your light shines. Don't get it backwards.

God doesn't instruct you to shine your light on yourselves or in the faces of others. Just be the light and others will see Him in it. This means that you're going to disappear and you have to be ok with that. It's the only way.

Be the church
Be the light
Go to church
Do good works
But make sure the motivation
behind all of these things
is Jesus.
